Evolution of a Start-up

Welcome to the Cicada Security Technology Blog, and join us on our adventures of developing a technology from concept to a marketable product.

I am Ryk Edelstein, the CEO of Cicada Security Technology Inc. A Montreal Quebec based company specializing in the development of a technology platform called Cicada. Cicada was developed to address a specific needs of an enterprise client with a big problem... major losses of laptop computers by their mobile work force. As a result we have designed Cicada as a means to provide real-time protection of mobile digital assets from tamper or theft.

Sure there are cable locks, and asset recovery solutions on the market, but there is a gap in between physical restraints and protection after-the-fact. There is no product with broad commercial availability to address real time theft or tamper protection. Seriously, try to find a functional solution that will accommodate consumer or enterprise use, that is an easy to use, and non-invasive on the work process, and I will be truly surprised.

The process of bringing a concept to market may seem relatively simple, and a matter of following a series of steps to reach the intended goal, but as we all know, there is a huge difference between the academic world, and reality.
